Freedom’s Southern Comfort Run Forrest Run

Fresh from Cape Cod and our newest addition from Freedom Labradors. This handsome fella is Jarvis’ nephew (Lumi x Shag), is sweet like his mother, and was born April 2024. His training has been going well and he has been such an amazing addition to our pack.

As we’ve mentioned before, Forrest comes from a great breeding program at Freedom Labradors, our ‘Parent Organization’, that we are an extension of and Chelsea has worked hard over the years breeding for Health, Temperament, and Workability to ensure that these dogs have a high success rate for Service and Comfort work as they are bred with specific traits geared toward these jobs.

Both Chelsea and I make sure our dogs are Fully Health Tested. Tests include a Full DNA Panel to ensure they are free of all Genetic Diseases that the breed can carry, as well as Hip/Elbow X-Rays. We then submit the results to the Orthopedic Foundation Association (OFA) for Scoring to ensure the best quality and workability.

Forrest has been with us since June 2024 and once he had all his vaccinations (after 16 weeks) we started slowly having public outings.
Prior to this we provided a training environment that exposes our pups to various stimuli, obstacles and an enriching environment that aids in building confidence which is very important.
